Kanda had driven as fast as he could on the way to The Order, when he arrived and made it to the front door Allen was already standing in its threshold. He gave Allen a quick glance over, taking his stretched and torn shirt. His newly busted lip and soon to be black eye already forming.
"Can we just leave?"Allen said, wiping at his eyes and pushing past Kanda.
"What happened?" Kanda asked following closely behind the man.
"People just don't know how to mind their own damn business." Allen replied angrily as he got inside the truck and slammed the door.
"Kanda." Komui called from the porch with a folder in one hand and motioned for him to come.
"Okay, what happened? When I left him a few hours ago he was fine." Kanda asked.
"This happened." Komui slapped the folder to Kanda's chest. "Apparently from what Lavi said Lenalee dropped this off for Allen and Lavi 'accidentally' read it contents and when Allen came into the room and saw the pictures and he flipped."
Kanda opened the folder and closed it in an instant, from the small glimpse of the picture on top he already knew what the rest was. "Why did she bring it here anyway? He had a another session scheduled tomorrow."
"That's something you'll have to ask her." Komui said, " In the meantime, those two will need some time apart so Allen will need somewhere to stay for a couple of days."
"Since it's such short notice,I guess he can stay with me for a few days then maybe I'll get him a hotel room if by then he's not ready to come back." Kanda said rolling the files up and sticking them in his back pocket.
"Sounds fine to me. Tell him he can come back when he's calmed down." Komui said.
"Alright. Bye." Kanda then went back to the truck and started the drive back to his house.
::..::..::..::..::..::..::..::..::..::..::
The drive to Kanda's home was more silent than on the first day he'd took Allen to The Order,
'At least then he was putting up a fight.'Kanda thought as he turned into the drive way the house and shut the truck off and the two got out.
Allen looked at the quaint house in awe, "This is your house? It's beautiful."
"Um..Thanks." Kanda said akwardly, "I know you probably had better growing up, right?"
Allen gave Kanda a blank look and said bluntly, "I grew up in homeless shelters my whole life."
Kanda mentally swore and beat himself up for making that comment, "I'm sorry." Kanda laughed nervously, "I haven't had company over since my ---, well it's been a while since someone's stayed the night and I haven't gotten aroundto cleaning out the baby room." Kanda pushed open the front door and shut it once Allen had come in,
"I didn't know you had children." Allen said.
"What?" Kanda asked confusedly.
"You said you had to clean out the baby's room. I didn't know you had kids." Allen repeated.
"Oh, I don't. That was just--" Kanda struggled to find the right words without the thought of Alma's sudden death and the surge of emotions he felt rising. Allen looked at the man's face as it seemed to twist in on it self.
Then Allen interjected, "Well it's in the past now, whatever it was." He hoped to clear the air once more, and get back to exploring Kanda's home. He walked down the hallway and began to make mental notes of where everything was. He then came to a locked door and so he called back to Kanda, "What's in this room?!"
Kanda now sat on the sofa, twisting Allen's cursed file in his hands and said monotonely, "Just some things I need to throw away."
"Oh." Allen said and came back up the hall and sat beside him, Kanda looked at the man beside him and got up returning to his normal self, "Let me get you some bandages and get you cleaned up cause it looks like you and Lavi got pretty damn close to killing one another."
